Our region celebrates its proud heritage during the Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival. The Bob Baronner Apple Trample 5k, a running and walking event along the Apple Harvest Festival Parade Route, is not only a 5k race, but also a training program designed to get people of all abilities fit and trained for this event and beyond. The Apple Trample 5k provides a way to have fun and exercise at the same time. It creates awareness about healthy eating, active lifestyles and cancer prevention.
Running Clinics and “0 to 5k, Train Your Way to a 5k”, designed for Apple Trample and Freedom’s Run participants, will be held in Martinsburg. Topics include: Heart Rate Training, Injury Prevention and Treatment, Fueling while Training and Racing and Nutrition for Athletes. This free training program emphasizes techniques to gain cardiovascular endurance and improve running or walking form and ability.
Also included is Walk with Ease, an exercise program from the Arthritis Foundation. This program will help you get in shape, walk safely and comfortably, and improve your flexibility, strength and stamina. In studies, Walk with Ease has proven to reduce pain, increase balance and strength and improve overall health.
We’re encouraging runners and walkers of all levels of ability and ages to participate. Our region has a growing commitment to wellness through activities and educational initiatives emphasizing fitness, proper nutrition, cancer prevention and overall wellness. With our mission of improving the health and well-being of our region, a partnership can be a natural fit for your business. Being a 5k sponsor will bring added visibility to your business and show your support and concern for your employees and our community.
Proceeds benefit Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival and WVU Cancer Institute University Healthcare Regional Cancer Center in memory of Bob Baronner.
The Apple Trample 5k offers substantial return on investment to our sponsors at various levels through an extensive media package including news stories, press releases, active social media campaign, website, website links, company logo or name on the t-shirt and Martinsburg-Berkeley County Chamber of Commerce and Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce email blasts to approximately 500 businesses each.
As we continue to grow, we look forward to developing more partnerships in our region. Many sponsor opportunities are available to meet your desired level of exposure. We’d like to invite you to join us.
